We're loving our baking steel griddle so far! We mostly use it for a griddle on our induction cooktop which gives us a really nice sized cooking area for breakfast, smash burgers, steak, etc. And the pizza is AMAZING!! I've never made homemade pizza in my life but I since we bought the baking steel I thought I'd try it and the whole family is begging for more! The 72 hour dough is worth the wait!!
I will say that the temps are not consistent across the whole griddle even if we let it heat up for 10+ minutes. But that is more a result of the size of our induction cooktop zone and the skinny griddle would have probably been better - however the larger size works is really nice for a family with 3 boys and and I just move food that I want to cook slower to the lower temp zones.

One griddle is great, two is even better! The second one arrived today just in time for a teppanyaki dinner for four. I'm still calibrating the burner settings, but everybody enjoyed the steak, shrimp, scallops, veggies, and noodles. Pancakes and sausage for breakfast tomorrow!

I’m have had my griddle and pizza steal for about a month now . This has given me some time to evaluate these products. I am even more happy with both of these products because I have leaned new ways to utilize them and the food I make comes out amazing. It truly makes a big difference if you have the right tools . I really like how they offer you free classes. They willing to answer any questions for you. They really take care of you after the sale. I did buy the book baking steel they didn’t have it in stock there so I had to get it on Amazon. Fantastic book highly recommend it and I highly recommend this company. There’s a lot of people out there making these products some of them cheaper some of them more expensive but none of them are as good . I have had friends that I’ve had other brand names and their product, and their results are not nearly the same as mine. Buy it trust me you’re gonna love it you won’t regret it. They stand behind it after the sale to help you with the recipes you get to watch some free classes. It’s a great deal. So after 30 days of using this, I like it even more.

Still in the process of getting the burner settings, but I'm already getting the kind of results I hoped for. Six healthy sized pancakes at a time? No problem. Teppanyaki chicken? No problem. Cleanup? No problem. It has taken up permanent residence on the stove top since it is so heavy; of course it moves to the drawer when I need the burners for something else, but it is so versatile I haven't put it away in about a week.
I am considering getting a second one for the other side of the stove so I can do bigger breakfasts and teppanyaki meals.

I bought my new griddle because how happy I was with my Baking Steel pro . This griddle is just as fantastic as the baking steel . It’s big enough to to the jobs I need it to but doesn’t take up the whole stove top . It’s great. If you’re thinking about buying one, if you were on the fence whether you need one or not take my word for it buy it , you will use it and you will love it. This is a great company to buy from. It will last you more than a lifetime. You can use it on your stove top or as a griddle on your stove top . You can throw it on your grill outside and you can use it in your oven like a baking seal. This thing does everything, and it dose it well. It will make everything you make well even better. .

I got the large Baking Steel Griddle. Fills half of the area, on my 30 inch gas stovetop. Also, fits perfectly in my oven. When I use my large metal spatula and scrape on this griddle., it doesn’t move. The weight is a definite plus.

Works as advertised! Mostly wanted a surface griddle for the stove top. We've cooked eggs. Scallops, tortillas, etc. Works very well. Doesn't even take too long to heat up. It is understandably pretty heavy, so my husband does the cleaning since at can't quite maneuver it, but he manages just fine.

Used it to make smash burgers on a gas grill and pizzas in the oven. Worked exactly as described in both cases. Burgers got a nice char in seconds and when I made the pizzas i qas able to make after the other rather quickly without loss of quality. Easy to clean and handle. Very heavy. In the past I used pizza stones in the oven to make pizzas but this definitely tops that cooking options, hands down. Would recommend to others without reservations.

As a whole experience is great. I’m just in a time of adjustment. My old, smaller, cast iron griddle warmed up and cooled down faster and I’m needing to figure out the difference. It makes sense because it is thick, but it’s a bigger change than I thought. All is well, and works great on induction!

This piece of metal is a little miracle. Heat retention is unparalleled outside of a professional setting. I’m getting the best pizza results out my electric GE home oven and can make restaurant quality smash burgers on my grill, to boot. 10/10 recommend.

I was treated with excellent customer service! I was hoping to receive my baking steel by Thanksgiving and they had sent one already but to make sure I received it , they sent another with two day shipping . I did receive it by Thanksgiving and sent one back. And I have used it several times now baking bread and I love it.

exactly what i wanted (Stovetop griddle).
Would recommend a seasoning or two in the oven before first use.
Heat distribution is pretty good but obviously not perfect, needs a nice long, low preheat on the burners to work properly.
First run was buckwheat-acorn blini as a friendsgiving appetizer, absolutely phenomenal

The baking steel performed as promised. Actually used it inside the Ooni pizza maker. Pizzas came out great, with a crispier bottom that we were missing before. Put it in our oven as well. The steel got up to just under 550 which should be great for making pizzas inside. Getting ready to make smash burgers with it on the grill. Super easy cleanup and maintenance. Outstanding product.

Just got the griddle and haven't had a ton of time to use it, but it's awesome. A preheated steel + the broil setting in my oven made great pizza in 4-5 minutes, and I was able to cook up chicken and carnitas for 8 people on the griddle, which had a great seasoning on it when it arrived. First off, I heard about the Baking Steel from a customer, he just raved about it. After much consternation about which one I should purchase (I literally made life-size measured cutouts of every single Steel and Griddle to figure out which one would work best in my grilling/baking environments - it was very helpful, and I highly recommend doing so!) ;-D The Baking Steel Griddle was the winner, and while the first one arrived slightly damaged, Craig sent out another one lickety split and then it was time for the maiden voyage. We bought the dough kit too, but since our first foray was just going to be a couple of pizzas, and not all four that the kit makes, we decided to go with premade dough from our grocer (not in a can, but in a plastic bag, and we have to say, extremely good dough if you don’t have time to prep the dough properly using the kit - Signature Cafe (store brand from Jewel here in Chicago area). The picture you see is literally the very first pizza we ever made on it, and you can probably tell the launching part didn’t go so well! LOL! (That’s a bit of ham hanging on for dear life in the front there!) ;-D But the results were excellent. We still have to figure out the best “launch prep” as the dough stuck to our prep area, and it was a bit of a fiasco to figure out how to actually get it onto the 500F Steel, but mission was accomplished, albeit a bit on the ugly side! It tasted amazing, and the 2nd pizza we made supreme, and that was excellent also. Again, outstanding customer service made this experience great, and we can’t wait to learn all about what we can do on the Griddle side next!! Thanks Craig for your amazing service, and thanks to everyone there for making an amazing product. Next stop . . . To the grill!

The griddle works very well and we've made great steaks and smashburgers on it.
The only negative is how razor-sharp the edges are on the as-received product. With it being so heavy it would be easy to get a pretty deep gash if you're not careful. I went around the entire perimeter on both sides with an emery board to round off the edges and now it's much better.
Please consider adding that step to the product.

Bought this and immediately used it on smash burgers and loved the steel. It became scaldingly hot and I loved that I was able to truly smash these burgers down flat without worrying about the lip of a cast iron pan.
It wasn't too bad to clean either afterward.
Plus it seems basically indestructible so I feel like this will last a long time. Very happy with the purchase!

This beautiful big boy is just what I needed. It is substantial, well made and when not baking pizza or bread I have noticed it keeps my older oven on point temp wise. I have no regrets for buying this and seriously wished I knew about it years ago. If your thinking about getting one, just do it !

Great size/dimensions. It takes some time to heat up, but it can get really hot and retain the heat longer than any cast iron. Perfect for feeding a family.

Pretty much permanently in our oven now. Works great to regulate oven temperatures while baking other dishes and obviously makes amazing pizzas. Used the griddle side a couple times and it works as advertised. The versatility and durability is 100% worth it.

Mine arrived with some pits on the griddle side of the steel. They’re a little annoying from a cleaning perspective but are largely cosmetic. Still, given the price of the steel, I expected a little better.

For maybe a year I've had heavy carbon steel plates on the weber gas grill outside the kitchen door. They are maybe 5/8" thick and 8" by 13.5" each. Wgt. 25 pounds apiece. These have taught me the virtues of carbon steel thermal qualities and their cooking advantages. (You can't burn meat, but you can always count on a thick deep brown mailard crust.) (The plates are the ones between the railroad tie and the rail.) Thank you Union Pacific.
It is nice to have a more practical and capacious indoor version. It heats up much faster! Been using it for breakfast every day. I expect to learn ever more applications. These will validate Kenji's appraisal: the best retail cooking surface.
The FEDEX ground service was such an abomination that you, and I, shouldn't have to pay for it. But I have written about that earlier. Hope someone investigates what happened.

I love the baking steel griddle! We have made several pizzas on it since receiving it a couple months ago and there is already a noticeable improvement over our former methods. Next I'm going to try the crust recipe that came with the steel. We haven't used it as a griddle (or on the grill) yet, and I look forward to trying that sometime, too. This is such a durable product I know it will last a lifetime - it is definitely worth the investment!

Have the baking griddle. It works perfectly. Only complaint is that on the griddle side, edges are super sharp. Easy to get cuts especially because of the weight.

Still early days with the griddle but I’m happy with it so far. With time I think this will be an excellent cooking surface. It is currently taking up the two left burners without much issue. There may be times I’ll have to move it to free up the burners but in general I intend to use it as a semi-permanent flat top. To that end, so far so good.

Large enough to actually do real griddle cooking on the gas stovetop. We have done pancakes, bacon, thin chicken boneless breasts and smash burgers so far. Smash burgers create a lot of fat/grease. The channel around the edge of the griddle handles this nicely. Very pleased with this purchase.

It's amazing. I've done smash burgers, which were so good but sadly the microwave vent and grease channel couldn't keep up(did around 30) so had to do 2 patties at a time. Searing steaks is superb. Pizza also came out fantastic. Highly recommended!
