Why the Skinny?

At 11.5" wide and 20" long, the Skinny spans two burners lengthwise while leaving room on your stovetop for pots and pans. Most flat-top griddles are 14–18 inches wide and take over your entire cooktop. The Skinny gives you the same two-burner cooking surface in a narrower footprint, so you can griddle smashburgers on one side of the stove and boil pasta on the other.

Smooth side (Griddle): Set across two stovetop burners and cook like a professional flat-top. At 3/8" thick, it stores and radiates more heat than thin restaurant griddles — meaning fast temperature recovery and restaurant-level searing. The carbon steel surface develops a natural nonstick patina over time with no chemical coatings.

Textured side (Baking Steel): Place in your oven, preheat to 500–550°F for 45–60 minutes, and bake pizza in 5–7 minutes. Same heat conductivity as every Baking Steel — blistered crusts, explosive oven spring, crispy bottoms. Also works for sourdough, baguettes, focaccia, and flatbreads.

What's the difference between the Skinny Griddle and the regular Griddle?

Both are reversible with a griddle side and baking steel side. The regular Griddle (14" x 18") is wider and covers more of your stovetop. The Skinny (11.5" x 20") is narrower and longer — it spans two burners lengthwise while leaving room for pots and pans on the rest of your stovetop. Same 3/8" thickness, similar weight. Choose the Skinny if you want to use your stovetop for multiple things at once.

What's the difference between the Skinny Griddle and the Mini?

How do I season the Skinny Griddle?

It comes pre-seasoned and ready to use. Over time, re-season by applying a thin coat of flaxseed or vegetable oil and baking at 500°F for one hour. Only needed once or twice a year. The griddle side builds seasoning naturally every time you cook on it.

How do I clean the Skinny Griddle?

After it cools, wipe down with a damp cloth or scrape with a bench scraper. For stuck-on food or surface rust, use our Cleaning Bricks. Mild soap is okay. Dry thoroughly and apply a light coat of oil. Never put it in the dishwasher.

Can I leave the Skinny Griddle in the oven?

Yes. It acts as a heat stabilizer, improving overall oven performance. Just remove it when you need the space.

What's the warranty on the Skinny Griddle?

Lifetime warranty against defects. If your steel cracks or breaks during normal use, we replace it. No questions asked.

As part of Baking Steel's quality policy, customer satisfaction is essential to our business.  We will do anything (well, almost) to ensure you are thrilled with your product.  If you're not happy, neither are we! 

For any item that is found defective, you have a 30-day period (from when the order was shipped) to contact us for a replacement. This return policy applies to any item that is found to be defective in material or workmanship when put to normal household use and cared for according to instructions.

As for refunds, you have 30-days from when the order was shipped to receive a full refund on eligible merchandise. Merchandise must be unused, in the condition it was received and in the original packaging. Custom size Baking Steels are not eligible for returns/refunds.  If your return falls within 30 days from when the order was shipped, we will provide you with a prepaid label for return shipping.

 *We do not offer returns, refunds or exchanges on custom Baking Steels or used products due to health and safety.  Custom orders are final sale.

Please note:  Minor imperfections, surface markings and slight color variations are normal result of our hand seasoning process and will not effect the performance of your Baking Steel.  For the Baking Steel patinas, these surface blemishes, imperfections will become unnoticeable as the product seasons with use.
